Here at Olsen Avenue Goodstart, we take reconciliation seriously. We are all on a journey, walking together with our families, children and communities. We commit to understanding our position as early childhood professionals and are aware of our responsibility to ensure the next generation of Australians grows up with connection to and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples’ cultures, perspectives and our true history. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Custodians of the Land on which we live. This respect is woven and embedded into everything we do. We will continue building meaningful connections and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, and we value the ways in which we can acknowledge the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures by celebrating this diversity and creating an early learning environment where all children feel welcome.
