Bauer Street Community Children's Centre’s vision is to continue to develop positive, meaningful, long-lasting relationships between people of the Yugambeh Language Group and the wider Australian community. We acknowledge the RAP’s development and implementation is a continual process and we will actively add to it and grow individually, as a team, and as an organisation. We will work towards working, living, and walking side by side, with Australia’s First Peoples to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday routines and learning.
In honouring reconciliation, Bauer Street Community Children’s Centre makes a commitment to an ongoing process that:
•Works in a respectful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities.
•Actively seeks and listens to advice and input from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Ensures workplace practices are respectful of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, and actively challenge insensitive and biased attitudes, practices, and behaviors.
•Ensures our work with early childhood services promotes practices that demonstrate sensitivity to all children’s social and cultural backgrounds.
•Promotes practices that ensure inclusion of parent and family values in caring for and educating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children in early childhood services.
•Promotes the respectful inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and experiences in all children’s services.
