In alignment with Goodstart Early Learnings vision for reconciliation, Goodstart Early Learning Helensvale respectfully acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands on which our early childhood service operates. At Goodstart Helensvale we thank the Yugambeh People for caring for the Land that we learn and play on.
Our vision for reconciliation is to create a community that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. To inform, promote and educate young children and their families of National Culture that represents equality and equity, a historical acceptance of our shared history and to remove any negative race relations.
Through supporting children, families and educators in understanding the true Australian history, we will respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through our early years learning curriculum, engaging with and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations. We will provide culturally appropriate resources and respectful learning experiences for all children, educators, families and the wider community. As early childhood educators, we understand the importance of this knowledge and understanding and that a child's reconciliation learning journey starts here.
With this in mind we make our commitment to developing ongoing strong connections with Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives into our center.
