Our vision for reconciliation stems from our acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Lands now known as Australia, and our recognition that their cultures and histories shape the cultural heritages of all Australians. In addition, that our service and educators embody and advocate for an inclusive, equal, and equitable environment and high professional standards for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and peoples of Australia.
We at North St Marys Children’s Centre acknowledge that we are on Darug Country, Land of the Gomerrigal-Tongarra People and we are committed to respectfully including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pedagogies in partnership with our curriculum to encourage successful educational opportunities for First Nations children and all other children at our preschool. North St Marys Children's Centre, together with Community Junction Inc. commit to building respectful and secure relationships with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals within our service, community and beyond. Our vision is to do so through acknowledging and valuing rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures by including these perspectives into our everyday curriculum, planning, and environment.
