At Como Preschool we recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. Our vision is to develop relationships that are welcoming, respectful, and inclusive and promote unity and equality Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We believe that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures form the basis of our shared identity as Australians. Our teachers and educators continue to develop knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being and knowing of the Dharawal community, so we can respectfully invite our children and their families to advocate for genuine reconciliation. We will strive to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and ways of learning throughout our daily curriculum and continue to invite Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to be part of our centre. Our vision is respect, equality, and equity for all.
