At Goodstart Tiwi, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in respect, truth-telling, and meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play, and we pay our deepest respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present, and emerging.
We continue to deepen our commitment to reconciliation by creating an inclusive, culturally safe and responsive learning environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions are genuinely valued. Diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives will continue to be meaningfully embedded in our everyday practice.
Through ongoing learning, unlearning and relearning and engaging with reconciliation and the true histories of this Country, we will foster and maintain strong relationships with First Nations people in the local community. We believe this in turn, will ensure a strong sense of belonging, identity, and connection to Country for all children, families, and educators.
We seek to strengthen and maintain authentic and respectful partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Traditional Custodians, guided by mutual trust, and ensuring a place where community voice is heard and respected. With permission and cultural guidance, we will respectfully embed First Nations stories, teachings, and traditions into our learning environment, ensuring this cultural wisdom is honoured and shared with current and future generations.
At Goodstart Tiwi, we actively stand against racism, discrimination, and inequality. We are committed to promoting fairness, inclusion, and reconciliation through meaningful actions that reflect our values. Our vision for reconciliation is for a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, their cultures are respected and valued , and every child grows with a deep understanding of respect, connection, and unity.
Through shared respect, inclusivity, and understanding, we continue to deepen our relationships and work in collaboration to build a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures are valued in all aspects of our learning community.
