We are Goodstart Early Learning at Bakewell would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians the Larrakia people on whose Land our centre stands. We promise to look after the land, and care about the people and the animals.
Goodstart Bakewell's vision for reconciliation is a reconciled Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this country are treated with equity, equality, dignity and respect. We aspire to see our national soul healed and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures to be fully and actively valued by all Australians. We aim to restore broken relationships between First Nations peoples and the wider community and eradicate social inequalities or inequities. We will do this through fostering respect, knowledge and understanding. Our centre is as diverse as Australia, with children and educators who come from all over the world to learn together, and we will continue to promote an appreciation for cultural diversity, including the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
We strive to be a welcoming, safe and inclusive hub for all families. Our learning and development programs enriched with cultural celebrations, respect and safety for all people. We aspire to include First Nations peoples, the land and waterways to enrich the children understanding of connection to Country.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan, ( RAP), details how Goodstart Bakewell is committed to fostering educational and wider equality and equity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians.
The plan follows Reconciliation Australia’s well-established themes of relationships, respect and opportunities, which aligns with our own values of respect, compassion, resilience, perseverance and celebration of diversity.
