At Goodstart Mawson Lakes, Avocet Drive, we are committed to creating a respectful environment where children, families and educators are able to come together to learn about and respect the Land on which we are located- Kaurna Land.
We value the importance of a culturally safe space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people feel acknowledged, represented, and respected. By building meaningful relationships, we listen, learn and work alongside First Nations communities to ensure their cultures and perspectives are embedded authentically in our everyday practice.
As a team, we strive to support every child to develop a strong sense of identity, belonging, and a connection to Kaurna Land. We continue to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives meaningfully in our curriculum and daily practices. Encourage curiosity, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and for all diverse cultures from an early age, whilst fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and reconciliation in all that we do.
