Rupertswood Kids World understands that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians is the responsibility of all Australians. We recognise the significance of belonging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families for them to grow and reach their potential. Our vision is to visibly respect and acknowledge the unique connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the Land on which Rupertswood Kids World is situated and to build genuine, respectful relationships with all present and future children and families who attend our service. We recognise Rupertswood Kids World’s commitment to reconciliation through adopting a practical action plan, will enable small and significant changes necessary to shift from positions of racism, ignorance, and tokenism to unity, positive race relations, equity and equality and meaningful learning experiences. We believe that our Reconciliation Action Plan will provide practical strategies for building and renewing deeper partnerships and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, families and individuals so that we can learn from each other as we work to build a more equitable and socially just nation.
