VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Goodstart Darwin Airports vision for reconciliation is to acknowledge and continue developing our awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures. As a community, we recognise and acknowledge value the Larrakia people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land and we commit to continue to deepen our understanding and respect of the Larrakia peoples cultures. Our vision is for all First Nation Peoples to have a sense of equality, dignity and respect in our service. We believe that by exposing children to meaningful experiences and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of learning, perspectives and cultures into our daily programs, we can promote and strengthen  understanding and respect of First Nations Peoples. We commit to building relationships with  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. We commit to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and histories into the childrens daily learning experiences and fortnightly planning. We commit to establishing a culturally safe learning environment and invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members into our centre. We will continue to reflect on our practice and develop more cultural responsive experiences for children and families.
