Immanuel Primary School

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Immanuel Primary School is a place of collaboration and shared responsibility. We embrace and celebrate diversity. We acknowledge that for tens of thousands of years Aboriginal peoples have lived and learned in harmony with the lands on which our school is set. We acknowledge that past injustices exist and that they continue to give rise to present inequalities and injustices.

We recognise that reconciliation is a process of healing and restoring relationships. By integrating the wisdom and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  perspectives into our learning and teaching, our community will move forward positively with a more complete understanding of the past.

We will achieve our vision of reconciliation through developing meaningful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These relationships are based on respect and recognise the continued richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their important contribution to Australia.
