Our vision for reconciliation at Broughton Road Montessori Academy is to enrich, inform and to further educate all educators, families and children within the centre to understand the impact colonisation continues to have on the First Nations Peoples of Australia. This will offer Educators, families and children the opportunity to develop an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and how this relates to reconciliation within our educational program. As part of our philosophy, we value diversity within our service. For this reason, we will facilitate experiences that broaden children’s, families’ and educators’ perspectives and encourage them to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. We endeavour to develop and support reciprocal relationships between all stakeholders and community members to work towards reconciliation together. This RAP will be attached to and implemented alongside the weekly planning to form part of our Quality Improvement Plan.
