Our vision for reconciliation at Smithfield Montessori Academy is to enrich, enlighten and to further educate all educators, families and children within the centre about Australia’s First Nations peoples, their histories and their cultures.
Educators, families and children will take this opportunity to develop a strong sense of understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and contributions within our education programs. We value diversity within our service, including the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identities, experiences and perspectives.
For this reason, we will provide and plan experiences that broaden children’s, families’ and educators’ perspectives and encourage them to participate, whenever possible, in connecting the home, the centre and the community.
