Our vision for reconciliation at Fairfield Montessori Academy is to enrich, enlighten and to further educate all educators, families and children within the centre about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Educators, families and children take this opportunity to develop a strong sense of understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories and contributions, and reconciliation within our education program. As part of our philosophy, we value diversity within our service, especially the diversity of First Nations peoples. For this reason, we will facilitate experiences that broaden children’s, families’ and educators’ perspectives and encourage them to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. This RAP will be attached to and implemented alongside the weekly planning to form part of our Quality Improvement Plan.
