Kinda-Mindi Early Learning Centre Claymore vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, and a national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and promotion of positive race relations, we believe this starts in the early education of our children. Kindi- Mindi Early Learning Centre’s has a vision to embed and demonstrate respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and to ensure an enriched appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural heritages is paramount. This is essential to the unity of Australia as a nation and it is fundamental in ensuring an inclusive Australian identity. We expect all staff, families, children, and visitors to respect each other as individuals and we recognize that respect comes from knowledge and understanding. We respectfully and appropriately share the knowledge shared with us to continue deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ knowledge and perspectives We believe understanding and valuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, rights and experiences, will result in stronger relationships based on trust and respect and that are free of racism. We as educators value and respect all children and families and will continue our professional development to continue to embed practices of cultural diversity within our service. Kinda-Mindi is an indigenous term for ‘place of laughter’. We believe children thrive in an environment filled with joy, happiness, and laughter.
