Kindi- Mindi Early Learning Centre’s vision is to continue to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives throughout our centre and to ensure that fostering an enriched appreciation of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage is paramount. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation, and it is fundamental in ensuring an inclusive Australian identity.
Creating a culturally responsive environment supports all staff, families, children and visitors to respect each other as individuals and we recognise that respect comes from deepening our knowledge and understanding of Australia's First People. We will draw on the knowledge shared by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to support each other’s continued reconciliation learning journeys, and we will actively value and demonstrate respect for the diverse beliefs, cultures, languages and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We are committed to continuing to develop our understanding of, and to demonstrating that we actively value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, rights and experiences, which will result in stronger relationships based on trust and respect and that are free of racism.
Our educators value and respect all families and will continue to extend on our own professional development; this will guide us on our ongoing reconciliation journey and ensure that we uphold the importance of embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives that value and respect..
We will continue to work towards developing meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to enhance our understanding and ensure that our curriculum respectfully embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
