Our vision for reconciliation at Little Wallabies Early Learning Centre is to develop and foster a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as being the First Nations people of Australia, for all to actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of Lands across Australia.
As we provide education and care to children, we hope to instill the values of equity, diversity and respect within all children and educators. We will encourage children to understand and learn about the true histories of Australia. This will allow future generations to promote respect, acceptance and empathy between all Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are dedicated to providing an authentic curriculum that is respectfully embedded with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. We will foster reciprocal partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members in the local and surrounding areas.
We want to break down and reconcile boundaries, remove already formed stereotypes through learning, unlearning and relearning. From this we strive to foster an inclusive, safe environment where people can feel culturally secure, valued and respected.
