Goodstart Early Learning Springfield Lakes proudly supports reconciliation and respectfully acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, and we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our service operates. We honour the Jagera, Yuggera and Ugarapul peoples and thank them for caring for the Land on which we learn, work and play. Our vision for reconciliation is to build a community that values unity, respect and understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. We will continue to promote equality, equity and acceptance of Australias shared history while fostering positive relationships and inclusive attitudes among children and families. At Goodstart Springfield Lakes, we are committed to helping children, families and educators learn about Australias true history. We do this by respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our early years curriculum and continuing to build respectful relationships with with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations. We will continue to reflect on what reconciliation means to us by and providing culturally responsive appropriate resources and meaningful learning experiences. As early childhood educators, we recognise that a childs reconciliation journey begins in the early years. We are dedicated to building strong relationships with Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community, and learning about how to respectfully embed diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our centre. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we commit to meaningful actions that strengthen and maintain meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, which in turn, will enable us to create and support a more equitable and socially just Australia.
