VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

C&K Walkervale Community Kindergarten recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our early childhood education service is offered. We acknowledge the significant opportunity C&K Walkervale Community Kindergarten has in educating all children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, cultures, and achievements. We acknowledge the ancient histories and continuing cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their connections to Land.

C&K Walkervale Community Kindergarten is committed to building partnerships based on mutual trust, respect, and recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures as enduring, living cultures and we respect and value the cultural insights that we gain as we establish strong relationships between our Kindergarten and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' children, families, and communities with whom we work.

On a foundation of equity, equality, integrity, and respect, we will continue to create high quality learning experiences that are culturally responsive and respectfully highlight Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives for all children, staff, families, and the wider community.

C&K Walkervale Community Kindergarten commits to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians and supports closing the gap of equity and equality in education and employment. C&K Walkervale Community Kindergarten recognises that we all play a part in reconciliation, and we will provide opportunities for our Kindergarten and support networks to engage with reconciliation on both personal and professional levels.

We respect and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and cultures and recognise that diversity presents opportunities for new understandings and other ways of being and doing. We are committed to reconciliation.
