We at Balgownie Early Learning Centre, will continue to ensure, our centre is a culturally responsive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and everyone that attends our service. We respectfully incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our programming, promoting mutual respect and understanding for the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures.
We continue to develop a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the Anglo-colonisation of Australia and learn about the devastating impact it has had and continues to have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, traditions and cultures. Through this understanding, we will educate both staff, students, families and community about the strengths and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the impacts of Anglo-Colonisation, respectfully embedding First Nations perspectives and stories within our programs and practice to strengthen reconciliation for current and future generations.
We at Balgownie Early Learning Centre, will continue to take action against by upholding the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures within an anti-racist learning environment. We will continue to go beyond tokenistic acknowledgements, promoting First Nations peoples, cultures and histories within local society whilst holding our utmost respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and traditions.
