At Gladys Smith Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in building strong relationships and deep understanding of First Nations peoples, collaborating to ensure there is a culture of equity, equality, and safety within our centre and the broader community.
The Gladys Smith Early Learning Centre sees reconciliation as 'a coming together as one community' of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and other Australians, where there is a culture of respect, acknowledgement and understanding. We dedicate ourselves to providing a respectful learning environment where everyone - children, educators and community - feels a sense of belonging, being and becoming. Together, we come together to enhance our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, languages and histories across Country, ensuring these are embedded into our everyday learning
We are committed to reconciliation with the Boandik Peoples and our community to continue in respectfully embedding our understanding and learnings of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Communities and Country throughout our Centre's curriculums and daily routines.
