At Virginia Primary School OSHC, our vision for reconciliation involves creating and maintaining a learning environment that is holistically founded on the five interrelated dimensions of reconciliation; race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance.
To us, reconciliation is about relationships and respect, two values that have always been integral to our service. We will work to establish strong relationships with the Kaurna people, Traditional Custodians of the Land on which Virginia Primary School OSHC is located, and we will ensure our service embeds a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being, doing, and knowing across all principles, practices, and outcomes.
Staff and children are committed to the ongoing processes of learning, un-learning, and re-learning, as we work together to create an Australia that recognises, respects, and values the past, present, and continuing histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
