We Belong Family Day Care

VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Daisy Hill and Southside Family Day Care believes in a strong future for every child. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Original Owners and Custodians of Australia and recognise that their cultures and heritages shape the Australia we live in today. We are committed to ongoing learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders histories, cultures and contemporary issues. We acknowledge and support the guiding’s of the 'Start Them Early' project and the work of the 'Close the Gap' campaign. We are committed to continued reflection, understanding and challenging of our own beliefs and everyday practices to deepen our understanding of fairness, justice and equality.

We believe that the embedding of carefully considered and informed practices within our service to support reconciliation, will foster change and support our work to provide equal and equitable opportunities. Developing children's awareness, knowledge and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, practices and histories within the context of our community helps support children's ways of being and transforms the ways future generations interact.
