Our vision for a reconciled Australia reflects unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We commit to a continued focus on truthful acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. We will work to ensure reconciliation continues to live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between all peoples.
Goodstart Coopers Plains will continue to commit to:
- Fostering cultural safety for all.
-Recognising the diversity and dynamism of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
-Actively acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ deep connections with lands, waters and communities.
Our vision for a reconciled Australia involves ongoing work towards creating a place where:
-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to feel welcomed, cherished and respected.
-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and all children, have equal and equitable opportunities to have their choices and cultures acknowledged and respected, and to lead meaningful, healthy lives.
We acknowledge the RAP’s development and implementation is a continuous process and we will provide additions and grow our deliverables into the future. Our commitment to reconciliation reflects our values of respect for diversity, inclusion, advocating the rights of children, justice and courage. It is our goal that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritages, cultures and perspectives are embedded respectfully and deeply in the future that it is engrained in our being, belonging and becoming within our continued service philosophy and curriculum approaches.
As we grow in our understanding and ongoing respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, we will develop a deep appreciation of Australia’s rich cultural heritage and move towards strong connections between ALL of Australia as a nation, on the Lands which we come together.
Together we acknowledge historical inequalities and inequities and hope and believe that, through actively listening to diverse perspectives with open hearts and minds, we can move together to a place of fairness and justice for all.
