VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Hillbrook's commitment to reconciliation is a shared vision of an inclusive community that understands what unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous  Australians is. For us, this starts with an understanding of the true histories of the Country Hillbrook sits on and strengthening and maintaining  relationships with  Traditional Custodians.

We continue to deepen our understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives by continuing to promote equality and equity. Our service culture promotes equality and equity, historical acceptance through deepening our understanding of our shared histories and will continue to work towards cultivating two-way relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to work towards the removal of negative race relations. We continue to acknowledge, respect, and celebrate the cultures, heritages and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our educational landscape deepens the message of reconciliation and fosters a culture of respect, understanding and inclusion. We will continue to learn from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, getting closer to reconciliation and unity.
