VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Capel Sounds we continue to respectfully weave Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our program and draw inspiration from First Peoples’ knowledge and connections to contribute to shaping positive educational opportunities and outcomes. At Capel Sounds we recognise the significance of reconciliation in Australia, and that it is more than celebrating multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion broadly. The histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be recognised and respected as a unique part of our shared national story and identity. We will endeavour to ensure that reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content and perspectives are a focus within all areas of our service and are respectfully embedded in our daily practice and program. We will always use respectful and inclusive language and terminology in all areas of the service. Through learning to care for Country, and engaging in professional development opportunities to further our own knowledge, research and a willingness to learn and share, we will continue to grow and foster equality and equity among all members of our service community. As a service we will support all staff, regardless of where they are on their reconciliation journey, to deepen their understanding and knowledge.
