Our vision at Sandringham Private Kindergarten is to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our daily teaching and learning practice. We aim to deepen our understanding as a staff cohort and we acknowledge that we are responsible for including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our practices, pedagogy and into our classroom. We are passionate about ensuring children have a holistic understanding of inclusion and diversity and the how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are positioned within this in the Australian context. We are committed to challenging our biases, preconceptions and share these reflections and discoveries with the children. Throughout our implementation of this reconciliation action plan, we are commitment to forging relationships and partnerships with the local community and with the Boon Wurrung People, the Traditional Custodians of this Land. We strive to be responsive to children's connections to Country and facilitate learning opportunities, broadening our vocabulary and acknowledging Australia's histories as we strive for cultural responsiveness.
