At Bimbi Early Learning and Kindergarten, we acknowledge that the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be recognised and respected as a unique and valued part of our shared national story and identity.
As a result, it is our vision that all educators, children and families have the opportunity to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. This includes developing an understanding of the diverse cultures and identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We recognise and acknowledge that our service in Airport West is located on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nation.
This familiarity with and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures will be established by embedding diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our practices, daily routines, activities, and learning environments, rather than relying solely on special events to drive learning.
