VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten is committed to reconciliation as an ongoing process of learning with educators, children, families and the local community. We believe that it is everyone's responsibility to embrace a deeper understanding and respect for the First Peoples of Australia. Our Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten RAP is our formal statement of commitment that we will acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and achievements.

Deer Park Early Learning and Kindergarten will continue to educate children, educators and families about the past and present injustices, whilst recognising the ongoing strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. Through fostering a service that is open to learning about reconciliation, we are able to incorporate a sense of being, belonging and becoming for both First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people at our centre. We will continue to provide  a range of open learning experiences in a respectful way which enhances knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives, and heritages, promoting an understanding of the First Peoples within our centre and the broader community. We are committed to building and maintaining positive relationships with the Wurundjeri people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
