At Kinda - Mindi Early Learning Centre Bella Vista, our vision for reconciliation encompasses a commitment for everyone across our learning community to be culturally aware and respectful, through creating inclusive learning environments and maintaining partnerships with local First Nations people and communities. We will do this by continuing to engage in ongoing professional development to create safe and supportive spaces for everyone, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We envision a community where reconciliation is at the heart of our daily practices, creating a nurturing environment where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, community members and staff are valued and respected. Our vision for reconciliation is grounded in a deep commitment to acknowledging and addressing the historical, inter-generational and continuing injustices and inequities Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have faced and continue to face and learning about the ongoing resilience and living cultures of First Nations peoples.
We will continue to reflect the cultural diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our educational materials and practices, ensuring that every child can see themselves represented and valued. We aim to build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, community members and staff to learn about and provide authentic opportunities to share our understanding of the rich cultures, histories and perspectives of First Nations peoples. This will enable us to contribute to a richer, more inclusive community and an authentic curriculum that supports a diverse learning environment.
We will continue to engage in regular reflection on our reconciliation practices and work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the local community to ensure that we meet our goals. By holding ourselves accountable and being open to growth, we continually strive to improve and deepen our commitment to reconciliation. By fostering a culture of reconciliation, we lay the foundation for a more inclusive and harmonious learning environments.
