VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Goodstart Early Learning Marrickville recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Custodians of the Land on which we all live, work and play.

At Marrickville, our vision for reconciliation is for all educators to engage in reconciliation on both a personal and professional level by continuing to collaborate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, Elders and educational partners to further strengthen our understanding of First Nation Peoples histories and cultures.

We truly believe that when educators are informed, they will bring positive influence on nurturing children’s understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of learning, perspectives, and cultures. With these cultural insights, we are able to establish strong links between Goodstart, the children, families, and communities with whom we work.
