Our goal for reconciliation is to establish a community that values the cultural legacies, diversity, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to foster strong, respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians.
We think that a nation that is reconciled, will be built through early education, and that every child has a right to learn about and participate in the learning of Australia's true history and the cultures of Australia's First Peoples to gain a sense of connection and belonging.
Our educators have a responsibility to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their families, and the community have a culturally safe and respectful environment that supports their growth and sense of self-determination.
By building meaningful relationships and working together with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in our area, we will deepen our understanding of the histories and cultures of the local area and where appropriate we will respectfully incorporate First Peoples perspectives into our daily routines and educational initiatives.
