Our vision for reconciliation recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures are the oldest continuous cultures in the world and our role as educators is to ensure we are respectfully embedding the perspectives and histories of Australia’s First Peoples for the education and benefit of all people.
We respect the diversity of cultures and perspectives among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and meaningfully include these in our daily routines. We provide educational opportunities for children to explore aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s stories and experiences as we build respectful relationships between our service and the local First Nations community and explore our understanding of the local environment.
Together we will connect with and begin to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and find ways to engage with community events such as incursions.
We recognise the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and wish to explore our understandings of these cultures through learning from Traditional Custodians to care for the environment.
