Bush Kindy Adventures acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are the longest surviving cultures in the world. We acknowledge the effects of past histories of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that this continues to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lives negatively in the current time. We acknowledge the strength and resilience of Australia’s First Nations peoples in the face of such adversity.
A reconciled Australia is a place where self-determination and collaboration takes place on a social, economic and cultural level for all people. A place where everyone’s voice is heard and that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and being are championed and respectfully integrated into the laws and governance of Australia. Where Australia acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples need a governance that is reflective of their culture and ways of being. Where the nation comes together with pride, solidarity and social justice for all.
Reconciliation at Bush Kindy Adventures creates a culturally safe environment for all, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ’cultures, histories and ways of being and knowing are embedded into curriculum in meaningful ways. That our children and children’s children see First Nations peoples as strong, included, respected and valued. That we can all listen deeply, challenge racism and value the wisdom and knowledge that is held.
