Corowa Preschool is an inclusive community that honours, respects and promotes an understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and their past present and continuing cultures and contributions within our service, the community, and beyond.
As a service we ensure deliver a culturally safe, inclusive and high quality education program and environment for ALL children and their families, in particular the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Corowa Preschool has a continuing responsibility to facilitate and respectfully co-construct with children and staff, a culturally responsive and positive future, which can only be attained by acknowledging our true history with and gaining a deeper understanding for First Nations peoples’ cultures. We continue to reflect on our program, practices and learning spaces to address any opportunities to promote equality and equity within the curriculum.
By continuing to respectfully seek out and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and heritages we enrich all involved through learning about local communities and beyond their stories, histories, languages, and contributions.
We also individually, and as a team continually challenge ourselves to learn and 'grow' while weaving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the service management, environment, program, and in respectful partnerships with others.
