VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to create an Early Learning and OSHC environment that fosters and values respectful relationships among all Australians, particularly between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader Australian community. At Turtle Cove, the ongoing journey of a RAP involves all students, staff, parents, and the wider community. We strive to cultivate respectful partnerships, promote wellbeing, and harness the impact of educators, children, and families uniting to form a community of learners. By collaboratively working together as a community, and involving children from a young age, we can continue to evolve, learn, and develop a deeper understanding. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of this Land. We honor the diversity, strength, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures in the face of historical injustices and the resulting impacts on connections to land, languages, health, children, family, and kinship. As an educational service, we are dedicated to ensuring that our efforts towards reconciliation are meaningful and impactful. Our vision for reconciliation incorporates  acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We continue to cultivate and strengthen relationships between Turtle Cove Early Learning Centre and the Southern Yamaji Peoples, as we continue providing learning environments where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, perspectives, and histories are respected and engaged with by all children, educators and families. We genuinely offer opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children to celebrate and embrace their heritage and individual identities
