Our vision for reconciliation at Gumnuts on Hardys Rd Early Learning Centre is to create an environment that fosters respect, understanding, equality, equity, recognition and inclusiveness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, and contributions. A place to see, hear, and feel reconciliation.
As an early learning centre, we are committed to building cultural responsiveness, respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and teaching the importance of reconciliation, equity and equality.
Through an inclusive curriculum and a supported Reconciliation Action Plan, we ensure reconciliation is an ongoing process embedded in our daily practices. We strive to continuously increase our knowledge and understanding of the histories, cultures and perspectives of the First Peoples of Australia, so that we can naturally and authentically embed these perspectives. Through this work, we will deepen children, educators and families understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, creating unity, respect.
