Avenues Early Learning Murarrie is committed to building a more inclusive Australia that better understands and values the perspectives, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We view reconciliation as a journey based on meaningful relationships, respect and equal and equitable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community to learn and grow together.
Through creating a culturally safe and welcoming environment, children, educators, families and members of the community can feel culturally safe and respected where meaningful relationships are formed. We will provide a range of meaningful cultural experiences that involve staff, children and families in group discussions that support and deepen the understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s perspectives, histories and heritages. Our centre community will actively and visually demonstrate the equitable and inclusive nature of reconciliation.
