GSEL Cranbourne East’s Vision is to connect and engage with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, extending our belief in, and vision of, a home away from home environment, for all who enter the service.

Our vision is for our service to foster a holistic and inclusive relationship with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community based on mutual responsibility and respect. We are committed to celebrating the Boon Wurrung Land on which we learn, live, teach, grow, and play, whilst respectfully exploring and expanding our knowledge, understanding of, and connection with, First Peoples, values, traditions, stories, and Languages.

We aim to be a service that leads the way in building a better future based on stronger relationships between all members of our community. Educators, children, and families will work alongside one another to engage in learning that celebrates cultural diversity across the whole service through a range of Language, literacy, art, and community engagement activities.

We aim to be a service where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultural identities are respected and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities are recognised, respected, and nurtured.

Through working together as a community and including children from a young age, we can grow, learn, and build a deeper understanding as together we walk the steps of the reconciliation journey. We believe working in collaboration with our community and building deeper partnerships will ensure a more interconnected and inclusive environment for all.

We are committed to ensuring the contributions and connections we make whilst on our journey to reconciliation are powerful and valuable. As a service we are committed to building our connection within the wider community and supporting the future leaders, builders, medical professionals, and service workers through our teaching today to understand how this vision link to our reconciliation.
