Our vision for reconciliation at Goodstart Early Learning Kyneton is to provide a diverse and culturally respectful space, which promotes and instils dignity and respect amongst our educators, children and families. In doing this we want to come together with our community to play our part in acknowledging the past and assist in healing the relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.
As a centre we will strive to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, customs, heritage and knowledges are valued, represented and embedded throughout our programs. Through the development of our reconciliation action plan, we will instil lasting positive change which reflects our centre vision and philosophy of inclusion, community and equality and equity.
As part of our vision, we acknowledge the connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with the Land on which our early learning environment has been created. We are committed to building partnerships based on trust, respect and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as enduring, living cultures and we respect and value cultural insights as we establish strong links between our service and the children, families and communities with whom we work. On a foundation of equity, equality, integrity and respect we create high quality early learning experiences for our children. We commit to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians through our commitment to supporting Closing the Gap in by providing access to quality early childhood education and employment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members.
