Our vision for reconciliation at WCC Children’s and Family Services is to embrace the healing process of reconciliation, in partnership with the people of the Marr Nation to form a sense of unity, respect and belonging.
We will continue to engage with reconciliation through ensuring that our Kindergarten is a place where all families, community and First Nations people feel welcomed and included.
We will continue to ensure that education occurs at all levels promoting knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories and that they are meaningfully embedded within our programs.
We continue to engage with Australia’s true history and develop our understanding of the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples through fostering genuine respectful partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we aim to empower and amplify the voices of First Nations people and include them in the decision making.
