Our vision for reconciliation at Long Island Early Learning Centre is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and encompasses a holistic approach to supporting children's learning aboutFirst Nations peoples, cultures and histories. We aim to create a culturally responsive environment where children, families, and educators work together to build respectful and meaningful relationships, with a particular emphasis on recognizing and valuing the cultural knowledge, traditions, and perspectives of First Peoples. By promoting reconciliation through respectful relationships, we strive to create a sense of belonging, connectedness, and identity for all children and families in our community, and contribute to a future where reconciliation is a fundamental part of Australian society. We strive to create a learning environment that celebrates and values Indigenous cultures, histories, and contributions. We acknowledge that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to playing our part in promoting understanding, respect, and equity for all Australians. Acknowledging the Bunurong people as the traditional custodians of this land is an important step towards reconciliation and building a more inclusive and just society. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and play on this beautiful land, and we pay our respects to the Bunurong people and their ancestors, past, present, and emerging. Wominjeka – Welcome.
