VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Goodstart Early Learning Parkdale is deeply committed to reconciliation. We recognise that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians is a shared responsibility, one that must be led by non-Indigenous Australians and guided by the voices, experiences, and wisdom of First Nations peoples.

Our vision is to honour and celebrate First Nations cultures by enriching the knowledge of educators, children, and families. We seek to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, languages, arts, spirituality, laws, and customs. Through respectful, engaging, and meaningful learning environments, we embed First Nations perspectives into our everyday practice reflecting our ongoing journey toward reconciliation. Situated on Boon Wurrung Country, we acknowledge and respect the Land on which we learn and grow. We pay tribute to the Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this Land and its surrounding waters. We honour their enduring connection to Country and their stewardship across generations. As educators, we embrace our role in fostering care for the Land and cultivating relationships that are respectful, inclusive, and welcoming for First Nations peoples.

Our vision extends to ensuring every child has access to high-quality early learning. We strive to build an equitable and culturally safe community where all children, families, and educators feel a deep sense of belonging and connection to each other, to community, and to Country.
