VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Dandenong Day Nursery, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in truth-telling, respect, and a shared commitment to a more just and equitable future. We acknowledge the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and play. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  We recognise the enduring strength, resilience, and diverse cultures of First Nations peoples, and we honour their ongoing connections to Country, community, language, and knowledge systems.  We are committed to building genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators, and community members, relationships that are built on listening, learning, and acting together.  Our centre is dedicated to creating a culturally safe, inclusive, and responsive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples identities, perspectives, and voices are respectfully embedded, celebrated, and reflected in our philosophy, curriculum, and daily practices.  As we walk together on this journey of reconciliation, we will continue to reflect critically, seek guidance from First Nations peoples appropriately, and engage in meaningful action to foster a community where truth, respect, equity, and unity can thrive, for the benefit of all children and future generations.
