Our vision for reconciliation at Wayeela Cooinda Preschool, is one where we learn to appreciate who we are, focus on similarities and acknowledge the differences of all our families and the wider community.
We will provide meaningful opportunities for the children of the preschool to learn about the true histories of the First Peoples of Australia. We will focus on building relationships and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, perspectives, and knowledges into our everyday curriculum across all learning areas.
We seek to understand Aboriginal cultures and histories of the Shoalhaven and the abundance of resources it provides for childrens learning to ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are respectfully valued as role models for all children.
Wayeela Cooinda Preschool will be a place where injustices of the past are addressed with strength on this journey of reconciliation for the future.
