At Big Little Futures Early Learning Callala Bay, our vision for reconciliation, is to create an environment that supports and strengthens knowledge and relations between our preschool and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We hope to strengthen the relationships between Big Little Futures Early Learning and the Jerrinja people, who are part of the Wandi-Wandandian tribe of the Yuin Nation, of Shoalhaven region- The Traditional Owners of the Land upon which we play and learn every day.
Together educators and children will be supported and encouraged to learn in a way which further develops understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's cultures, exploring the shared histories and the rich traditions of Country and First Nations peoples. We continue to create and maintain a culturally responsive environment where we hold a strong belief that all children and families have access to the same equal and equitable rights to feel safe, secure and supported to thrive and learn.
At Big Little Futures Early learning in Callala Bay, we are providing better understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures to further develop an enriched appreciation of Australia's cultural heritages and the importance of reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of a reconciled national Australian identity.
