VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Armidale and District Family Day Care Ltd (AFDC) recognises and respects the rich cultures, values, and histories of the First Peoples of Australia. We are committed to acknowledging their enduring contributions by meaningfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our curriculum and daily practices.

Our vision for reconciliation is to foster genuine respect, understanding, and work in collaboration and partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the local community. Through these partnerships, we will continue to support a stronger, more inclusive community by ensuring there are opportunities for strengthening relationships between First Nations and non-Indigenous Australians.

AFDC strives to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all aspects of our practice, promoting cultural responsiveness and inclusive education in early and middle childhood settings. We are committed to creating environments where all children feel a sense of belonging and where diverse identities are valued.

We acknowledge the injustices of the past and recognise the importance of truth-telling, healing, and ongoing advocacy for equity and social justice. As a family Day Care community, We take responsibility for continually reflecting on and strengthening our pedagogy and practice to ensure we respectfully and authentically embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives.
