VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Panania Child Care Centre, our vision for reconciliation is to contribute to a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, knowledges, and achievements are recognised, respected, and celebrated every day.  

 We are committed to fostering a culturally safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where children, families, educators, and community members can learn together and develop meaningful relationships based on respect, understanding, and reciprocity. We acknowledge the enduring connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, culture, community, and family, and we recognise the important contributions they continue to make to Australian society.   

We believe that reconciliation begins with learning, listening, and building genuine relationships. Through authentic engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, we aim to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our service in meaningful and respectful ways. We strive to ensure that children develop a strong sense of respect for the world's oldest continuing cultures and an understanding of the shared histories that shape Australia.   

We respect the voices, experiences, and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, educators, Elders, and community members and recognise their important role in guiding our reconciliation journey. Through ongoing reflection and action, we seek to create opportunities for all members of our community to engage in reconciliation and contribute to positive change.   

Together, we are committed to walking the path of reconciliation, strengthening relationships, promoting equity and respect, and helping to create a more just, inclusive, and united Australia for current and future generations.
