Kinda-Mindi Alexandria is committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and non-Indigenous people. We believe in providing children with rich, meaningful and real opportunities to better understand the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their communities, traditions and continuing connections to the Gadigal Lands on which our service resides.
Our aim is to find meaningful ways to walk together with First Nations Peoples, by building knowledge, acceptance and understanding that is fostered through the reciprocal relationships with the local Aboriginal community and ongoing learning and professional development.
Our vision is to create an environment that promotes unity, justice, anti-bias and equity for all, by inspiring knowledge and understanding of our nations Aboriginal and Torres Strait heritages, and we encourage our Kinda-Mindi community; staff, families, children and visitors alike, to embrace reconciliation through embedded practices that actively values and recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and heritage as a proud part of our shared identity.
Kinda-Mindi is an Aboriginal term for ‘place of laughter’. We believe children thrive in an environment filled with joy, happiness and laughter.
