Willetton Senior High School recognises and acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar People who generously contribute and share their culture and perspectives to the community.. Willetton Senior High is an inclusive community that respects, acknowledges, and celebrates shared learning experiences that promote reconciliation. We believe that learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages and cultures is the responsibility of all people and will help us grow as a school community. Our school is committed to facilitating respectful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share their perspectives and stories with us. We are committed to active listening to First Nations voices to guide the school’s reconciliation journey. Willetton Senior High School is focused on creating and maintaining a learning environment that visibly and respectfully acknowledges and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and heritages, the role that all teachers play in supporting and upholding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, languages, and knowledges, and the role the school plays in the community to drive and be a voice for reconciliation and educating students who have come from multicultural backgrounds about the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the process of reconciliation. Willetton SHS is and remains committed to a continual process of reconciliation and reflection through engaging with our staff, students, and community on our reconciliation journey. We as a school understand that as our school changes, our journey with reconciliation has and will change too.
